I have been quoted a price of 1000.00 to replace the alternator in my TT. This is for parts and labor. I also have been quoted a price of 250.00 to replace the battery. This is all an estimate through my Audi dealer----they have , in my opinion, been extremely overpriced in this regard. I have located the alternator online for around 150.00---is the labor really that high on tjios particular part? and doen't the price for the battery seem high as well? I am desperate not to get screwed again---Can you give me any suggestions?

OK on the alternator it calls for 1.5 hours to do this job should cost about a $112. on average. The battery calls for .5 hours costing an average of $45. So I would say yes you can do this yourself if you have any mechanical skills at all. Otherwise I would find a shop that you can trust that does foregn cars. If you need help to know what to do just ask I will do what I can. Thanks.
