1998 Audi A6 Cruise Control woes 98A6

I recently purchased this A6. I was able to repair most everything that this car needed except I am stumped by the cruise control. I have repair experience and a decent shop to work with. I have downloaded the manual for this car. The manual states there is a cruise control test connector but I don't find it on the car. I found other websites that tell of module and circuit board problems. From what I can tell, the manual says this module is under dash behind glove box. i have the same problem, i looked in the fuse box, under the slot that is supposed to be cruise controll there is not slot for a fuse even though i have it on the
high beam/flicker handle
