Good afternoon! I purchased my audi used, and have been in the shop multiple times with it since. I have owned it for 5 years and have experienced a mysterious oil leak that was never found. The turbo was replaced, seals replaced, consumption tests conducted and....nothing. So I just gave up and kept adding oil (synthetic). Now, and this could be related or not, there is a hissing noise in the driver's front side when I press on the gas while the car is moving. IF the car is parked, and I press the gas, there is no hissing noise. If I am driving and press the gas and the hissing noise comes (very loud) when I let up even the slightest bet on the gas, the noise stops.

Do you think this is a vaccum leak or exhaust leak?

Hey did you figure out what this was? My son and I are trying to figure out the exact same issue. Either way we'll keep in touch... I think it's an exhaust related issue based on our diagnosis.

Wow thank you so much we will certainly look into that. I have just been turning the radio up louder :(..... hoping it would go away on its own. Now why in the world won't it just go away? :) We will look into that this week and get back with you. To me, in all seriousness, it sounds like a vaccum leak as if a hose has come undone somewhere. Thanks for your post, it reminds me to encourage hubby to have a look! -Joyce
