Transmission problem
1999 Audi A4 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 125k miles

I just bought a A4 with the "transmission out" before I rip the transmission out to put another in it is there anything I should check that could be a fixable problem (checked fluid level and shift cable operation....no burn smell of fluid. Transmission makes no noise or effort to move....thanks Ken

I would first do a scan and see if there are any fault codes.

only code was " catalyic converter effeciency" nothing else. thanks Ken

i would be removing the transmission and having it checked out.
