Engine Performance problem

After replacing the fuel pump of Audi 2.3E 5 Cylinder engine the rpm flactuate from 300 to 1200 with no reason. In addition when A/C on the engine choke is not immiteately on to increase the engines rpm and almost closed to switch off. The replacement was done with the mechanic help and the tank was cleaned before pump replacement.
Resason of replacement was a noisy pump. With the previous pump there was no problem!
