1992 Audi 100 car smokes now

I bought a 92 audi 100, it drove fine and sat for

a while, i changed the oil and then the next time

i started it smoke (burning oil smell) come out

of the exhaust pipe. What could this be?? I may have overfilled the oil.

any help would be GREATLY appreciated,

it was either 5w30 or 10w40 synthetic

the odd thing is it seems to only smoke after 15 minutes, like when it is warmed up

Hi there,

If it wasn't using the synthetic oil before this may be part of the problem, do you know if it was using syn oil before? if not go back to a mineral based oil and see how that goes.

wow that was some awesome advice mhpautos!

I changed the oil back to mineral oil and booya!

no smoke, I was amazed! I thought synthetic oil

was good for any engine. obviously not.

Thats a great result, many people think that synth oil is the cure all for engines, when in fact it can cause more problems, thank you for the votes and pos feed back.
