I put new water pump on and new thermostate. I filled the fluid up with antifreeze. I cracked the bleeder open but still airlocked.

Hello,

The way to refill your vehicle's cooling system is to fill it from the highest point possible. Gravity dictates that liquid has to run to the lowest point in the system, so as long as you are filling from the highest point, there will be no air pockets. What I do when filling my vehicle is to undo the upper radiator hose where it comes from the engine. I then fill the empty cooling system with a 50/50 coolant/water mixture until the coolant comes out of where the upper radiator hose attaches to the engine. I then reattach the upper radiator hose and the engine should be full of coolant with no air pockets and ready to roll. You can double check by starting your vehicle and let it idle, coming up to normal operating temperature. See if the temperature goes back down when the thermostat opens. Check coolant level and top off as necessary.

Thanks,
Alex
