I bought a car that I had to replace ignition switch but installed a push start. I need a diagram or schematic for system circuits due to original owners cut a lot of wires that I'm not sure what they connect to.

Hi,

If you look below, I attached the wiring schematics you requested. The first two are the anti-theft alarm circuit.

Pics 3 and 4 are the anti-theft immobilizer circuit. As far as the pics I attached, the schematics were one page long. I had to cut them in half to make them readable for you. I did overlap them so you can follow from one to the next.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

joe

Hi,

I'm not sure if it will help, but I attached everything I have for the fuses and junction boxes. If things were modified, I'm not sure what was changed.

Take a look through the pics below. Let me know if they help.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

No problem whatsoever. I just hope they help. In most cases, and for what reason I don't know, my manuals provide basically useless information when it comes to fuses on a Chrysler product. This what much better than I expected.

Take care of yourself and let me know.

Hi,

The black wire with the red tracer goes from the switch to the starter relay to energize it. The white wire with the red tracer comes from fusible link 8 in the under-hood fuse box. The power from that wire goes through the ignition switch and then to the starter relay when the key is in the start position, and it powers other fuses in the junction box on the left side of the dash.

I attached a pic below related to the switch and power distribution in the junction box. The black wire with the red tracer in the pic shows it is to engine controls/ignition. That is the one that goes to the starter relay primary side.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Now from there what wire powers the fuel pump it's new just bought knew one has power as I've tested it but won't come on when it's supposed to. I tried the starting fluid spray thing and did get car to turn on, but fuel pump won't engage can you tell me about those wires how and where they connect to please?

It's because the original owner guessing lost their keys and attempted to do I know what or why they cut wires they had no reason to cut.

That code is for the immobilizer, but the code isn't listed for this vehicle. LOL Now I'm confused.

I have a feeling it may be the result of the PCM not recognizing a key.

But no key is being used as for having taken out if ignition and installed a push start with 3 accessory toggles. As I said, when attempting to start the car does crank over but again the fuel pump does not engage. as far as the code I'll try again to see if it pops up again.

Hi,

The fuel pump is shut down by an immobilizer. The other modules on the vehicle likely are waiting for clearance to allow the vehicle to run.

That is the only other thing I can think of.

Let me know. Also, I wish I could be of more help. Not being there makes things difficult. I hope you understand.

Take care,

So, what if I get no ground on my relay which if I'm correct is what would engage my fuel pump to turn off which would be getting its ground from my ECU.

Hi,

If the fuel pump relay's primary side is not getting a ground path, the relay won't actuate and send power to the pump. If that is the case, check at the ECU to see if there is a ground presence there. You may have a broken wire or a bad connection.

If I'm not getting ground, I check ECU, but on engine compartment fuse box or inside fuse box to test ground wire.

I would first check it at the relay location in the box. If there is no ground, then I would go to the ECU and check it there. If there is no ground being provided by the ECU, chances are it has failed.

Let me know.

Hi,

Are you referring to the powertrain control module? Is that what isn't getting power?

Let me know so I grab the correct schematics.

Well, you see my issue is my fuel pump wasn't engaging found out not getting ground side on relay circuit but not sure what to do next. Also seems like my fuel pressure is low or is that from fuel pump not engaging. I used starting fluid to see if car would start and it did but stuck on what to do next on relay or what to check and where. I have the car listed above rt 3.0l v6 6g72 Mitsubishi engine.

Hi,

If you aren't getting a ground from the ECM, that is why you have no fuel pressure. I'm looking at the wiring schematic (see pic below). The ground signal is provided via a black wire. Go to the ECM on the passenger side and locate that black wire. With the battery disconnected, remove the connector and check for continuity in the wire itself. Also, make sure there is no damage at the connector or corrosion.

If that checks good, then check right at the ECM for a ground path. If there isn't one, the ECM is my first suspect.

Let me know.

Okay, what does it mean if or when I was checking relays with my test light last night and I went inside car to start nothing seems to power anymore was working fine right before I started checking relays what did I do that would have caused me to have no power.

Have the relays been reinstalled? Have you checked to see if you may have caused a fuse to fail? Also, does anything work? For example, do the headlamps turn on, or does the horn blow?

Let me know.

Figure it out, but now when the vehicle starts, I have low fuel pressure. What or where do I begin to check but without using a pressure gauge if by chance is possible?

Hi,

To determine fuel pressure, you need a fuel gauge. What is happening that leads you to believe it's low?

Take a look through this link that explains in general how pressure is tested:

LOL That is perfect and no need to apologize. It sounds like you have no pressure if it is only dripping, can you hear the fuel pump turning on when the key is first turned on?

Hi,

I'm not sure how you have it toggled, but the blue/black needs power in acc and the run position and the blue/red only should have voltage in the run position.

Is that what you need? See pic below.
