Alternator light and subsequent failure?

I am curious about difficulty and any advice about doing this repair I have done a few of them, but not on any German cars. A tool list would help and thank you in advance for any and all help.

Hi,

It really isn't any different on this vehicle other than location, location, location. LOL It's low in the engine compartment which makes it a little more difficult. As far as tools. make sure you have a good metric socket set and other general tools.

Also, before you do anything, disconnect the battery negative terminal. Additionally, here is a link that may help:

If you look below, I attached the directions specific to this vehicle. The directions include an exploded view of the part/area, part names, and directions.
