I need a new alternator and I am looking for cheapest. I just need to know if it is compatible with any other Toyota alternators keep in mind mine is 1996. I have looked it up but have gotten nowhere.

It is not going to be cheaper for a different model Toyota if it is the same alternator it will be the same price. You could probably get it cheaper online, but if it goes bad you will have to ship it back in to get it warranted.

Okay, I am more worried about compatibility not price so my question is a Toyota Avalon 1996 alternator the same as a Toyota Camry 1996?

Yes it is a auto parts store can look up the correct one for your car.
