I have noticed on more than one make of automobile that the power steering high pressure hose seems longer than necessary and has some odd curves and bends in the hose. The hose runs from the PS pump on the driver's side to the passenger side of the car, makes a U-turn and runs back to the steering gear on the driver's side. Does anyone know why the hose doesn't run directly from the pump to the steering gear?
