I have a 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager with 125,000 miles with the 3.8L engine. My service engine soon light has come on lately and stayed on. (This happened also a month ago.) Recently, the instruments on my instrument panel (water temp, rpm's, speedometer, and gear shifter indicator) have not worked on 2 different occasions. I have taken it to a mechanic. He is being told by Dodge that I need a new BCM. It is over $600. If I get it, there is no guarantee that it will work (and it is not returnable.) I would seek your advice. Also, I have tried to make a contribution to this site, but failed. Is there a way that I can donate directly? Thank you.

The BCM does control just about everything inside the van and if you are having intermittent problems that is the direction I would head in
