i have a 1994 olds cutlass supreme with 113,00 miles on it. i was having problems with the brakes, where i would be at a light and the car would jump foward a little bit. i took it to the shop and they said that i snapped my abs line and that it was going to be $800 to fix this problem. i don't know much about cars so i'm sorry if this is a dumb question but do i have to have my ABS brakes and can i just get new brakes thats nothing fancy. i don't have the money to fix this but i need my car.
thanks

The Anti-lock brake system has brke fluid that runs in it and is tied into the mechanical brake system fluid. So you can't by-pass them, but you can get a second opinion from another shop however.
