ive got a 99 explorer with 5.0 and keeps setting cam code 340. i got this from another shop, they already replaced the cam sensor and oil pump drive. i took it apart and set it with the cam alignment tool, checked wires to the computer and they ohm out perfect, has anyone seen a worn timing chain cause this, or any ideas would be appreciated. thanks tim

the only bulletin i saw was to make sure the drive gear assembly was set with the proper tool and i did reset it correctly. my next logical guess is the computer but i hate pitching parts.

at my shop i have all data, so you might have a bulletin i have not seen in your mitchells on demand. no i did not do a wave test, unfortunately i dont have a scope yet, im using the genesis for now, im trying to convince my partner that the snap on modis is a smart buy, but we have only been in business since july and until now i have not had the need for it. anything you could send would be appreciated. tim
