I have a 99 Dakota automatic transmission, 3.9 v6 The truck has 64xxxx miles. The first couple of times through the gears it has a hard time getting from 2nd to 3rd. all other gears are fine. After engine heats up the problem goes away. Transmission or filter/fluid?

you could try a flush but this one sounds internal , possibly the pump or converter going south , but if the fluid is dirty try the flush first and go from there , if you need more help let us know and if the engine light is on have it checked and get back to us

thanks , jim

I too have a transmission problem.
In high gear, there seems to be a bounce in the RPM's, especially when I hit bumps or accelerate. I am hoping this is caused by a faulty solenoid or sensor somewhere. Currently I am getting a P0505 code which pertains to the idle speed motor. I cleaned this with Carb cleaner, and the transmission problem has only happened since this cleaning. Could a new Idle sensor be the fix?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Shorty.
