99 Civic AC Problem

Let's see Pep Boys are tire people and that doesn't really put them in to what I would classify A/C experts and certainly not foreign car mechanics. You might think you will save a couple of bucks but the hassle and take backs will not be worth the effort.

Thank you for the what I should of done, but that really didn't help me diagnose the problem. All I know, is that Pep Boys is an automotive service station, and they probably know a lot more about fixing cars than I do. And although Honda's may be foreign, I think there are enough of them around that they not exotic.

First question: Are they putting in new parts and are the parts genuine Honda?

Second question: Don't they test what they do? The car should never have left the shop the first time if it did not work. Now as to the second one and the way it drives, I believe that is possible to occur as they probably didn't drive it as few mechanics do anymore and they don't run the engine too much. But it occurs that they did not get the system hooked up correctly as the computer is not sensing the needs of the air conditioner or the demands of the system to the engine. You need to ask some hard questions of them. No Honda's are not exotic but MANY mechanics will not work on them and quite a number that do shouldn't.
