I recently broke one of the dog ears on my plastic distributor where the cap screws down to the main shaft. Apparently this is a common mechanic problem. I replaced the plug wires, plugs, and a completely new distributor. It ran great until I put it in gear. Then it would stall constantly.
I had a certified tech check for codes and time the distributor. No codes showed. So I replaced the coil and control module. Still same problem. I put the old distributor back in cured the problem. I figured it might be a new distributor malfunction. So I sent that one back for yet another new distributor. SAME PROBLEM as the first new distributor. Again stalling yet fully timed by scanner and no codes. Also just to elliminate that it was not a fuel pump problem I had a certified tech check the PSI from the fuel pump and it was running at 55-65psi.
Any helpful hints in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
