I have a 93 geo metro lsi 2-door convertable. 1.0 eng. 3 cyl. 5 spd. 102,000 mi.
It has a wicked grinding in front end on turns. I jacked it up and think is wheel bearing. I have the parts but not sure about tools. Will I need a slide hammer? Can you give step by step removal prcedure? I will replace rotor also while in there.
Question 2:
How do I know if I need tranny fluid? I can't even find a dip stick! How to you check gear oil?

im not sure if its your berrin or not its a fwd car alot of cars around that mileg need new cv joints.. best way to find out is take a stop sign corner and give it gas to take the turn like normal after you stop. dose it make the sound? after that take a corner that you dont have to stop for, and roll around the corner with no gas, and if it dont make the sound its your cv joints. now if u have a constint grind and its not just on turning then it could the cv joints a very very bad or your assumtion the bear-n. as for the trany fluid, your owner manual should show u were it is, if you donthave one you can look at it online, just google for it. and if that dost have it in there go to a shop and offer like 5 bucks to the shop guys to show you or askum if thay can show you free, but there mostly cheap guys that want money lol (no afence to anyone) and the gearbox fluid, I may b wrong on this cuz i dont mess with thos but i thing thats a lube in there and not a liquid.. well i hopw i was any help for ya, good luck

Definitely bearing! drivers side. Have spindel off. Good tip:bolt that holds ball joint to spindel has to be all the way out to remove ball joint.

good luck! Thanks for the replies
