I've got the replacement strut on but I can't compress the figure 8 donut

ok u need a strut compressor. if u don't know how to compress a strut then take it to someone who knows or u can seriously hurt or kill yourself when trying. believe me you don't wanna see that spring flying

I was able to do it with a piece if 3/8 threaded rod and a large radiator hose clamp.

good i hope it worked out then. i forgot about the w-body vehicles. if u ever run into that problem again they make a tool for w-body front stuts that make it really easy to change
