I have a 92 Ranger with 104,000 miles, 2.3 liter 4cyl that has starting problems. This truck is driven very infrequently. I started it and moved it, let it warm up and shut it back off. Now when I try to start it all I get is a rapid click that sounds like it's coming from the starter. If I try it too many times it drains the battery.
Within the last year it has: new starter and selenoid, new starter relay, new cables, and new battery.
THINGS I'VE DONE THIS TIME:
I had the battery charged and load tested, it passed. I pulled the starter (because it sounds like the selenoid to me) and it tested fine too. I cleaned the grounds and connections.
Thanks for the help, I'm out of ideas!!
