my car wants to rev itself up wheather I push the pedal or not. I revs up high enough the if I don't fully push the brake the back tires will start to break loose. I tried pushing the accelerator to try and get it back down, but it stayed fast. I tried putting it through the gears and it acts like it would if you were push the accelerator and brake at the same time in put in into gear. I feel unsafe driving with my 17 month old son in the car. Please help

First off, does it ever go back to a lower idle, like when it warms up? When did this start, or was it gradual and not noticable?
Your idle is controlled by the EEC-IV idle speed control unit. Sounds like something in that circuit has gone bad. It could be as simple as a sensor, or as complicated as a computer issue. You are probably going to have to take the car to a mechanic and have them test it out.

yeah it goes back to normal idle after it runs for about 10 minutes or so. It started all of the sudden. If I can find out what is wrong with it. I might be able to do it myself.
