74 Cheyenne Dead Fuse Box

My beloved 74 Cheyene, full sized, owned since 74, has a puzzling problem.

Electrically, it is completely dead.

The fuse box has no power at all. It will not start, has no lights, no nothing.

I have confirmed that the batter is good, alll battery cables and connections are good...all four fuseable links under the hood are good also.

It will start using a remote start switch between the battery and starter coil, but then dies.

It's completly dead at the fuse box.

Any ideas?

have you pulled the fuse box apart and checked for corrosion or any melting ?? if you have power all of the way to the box but nothing coming out i would start there and see what you find and let us know , i will monitor the post by email and respond as soon as i can

I will try that tomorrow. It looks ok to the eye but I'll pull it off the firewall and check it out.

no problem , i dont have any info on anything that old but you really shouldnt need any , very basic system , and you sound like you knwo what your doing so we can get this figured out

Thanks very much for your response. Your advice was right on track.
However, I found the problem.
The dealer's service manual for this truck says there are four fuseable links under the hood.
WRONG!!
There are five.
The fifth one is embedded in the wiring harness, not visible, along the firewall.
As a last resort, before starting to take things apart under the dash, I cut open the wiring harness all around the engine.
There is was. I replaced it with a 30 amp fuse holder.
