First-I know nothing about cars (neither does the husband :( . My beetle was in an accident recently, not my fault. It was mostly cosmetic, however, the radiator support and the manifold had to be replaced. I picked the car up the other day and all was fine. However, now the engine light is on. I checked the owner's manual and the light refers to the the exhaust system. It is not flashing (good). I was wondering if the manifold could have some bearing on the light being on?

Absolutely. the "check engine" light is an indicator that your cars computer system has detected a fault.Could be any of the sensors that pertain to the engine management or evaporative control systems. have the PCM scanned and that will give you a good starting point
