Hello, my car is Rover R75.
While reversing my vehicle, I heard a light sound & thereafter the reversing mechanism failed (ie: can't reverse although reverse gear engaged & reverse lights on)

Please advise.

sound like the selector inside the gearbox has broken .. it will need a transmission repair centre !
