2002 Sunfire

I have a 2002 Sunfire and every once in a while and becoming more frequent,there is a sound that emits from the steering column that sounds like rubber on top of rubber,It happens when the car is cold and warmIt happens whether I turn the wheel a small bit or alot.Hers hoping you can let me know what the problem may be.I have been to ld that there is a issue with the steering in the 2002 sunfires.

I guess you are talking about a squeak. It will require the steering wheel to be removed and either replce or repir the top bearing and plastic housing. There are no sunfire issues but a common older GM noise
