Nope, you have a serious clutch problem either the throwout bearing or pressure plate. It is not a common problem until the clutch is bad. Good luck

what does the clulch got to do with ideaing some times when i put the clulch in it goes to 900rpm sometimes 300rpm then some times it goes to 0rpm that when it stalls.It is realy bad on hot days it goes down to 0 all the time.I talked to GM thay said it is the EGR valve pluged.Some master Tech I hope i do not get you to work on my car

Let me put it too you this way. After 40+ years of garage ownership the 0 RPM condition has to do with something in the clutch set up. Yes an EGR valve that needs cleaning has to do with erratic idle.

I would clean the EGR orfices as well as the throttle body. It too can cause erratic idle. Use a small tooth brush and carb cleaner in the throttlebody. The engine will idle a little rough after a start because of injecting the cleaner.

Once the erattic idle is stabilized and the RPM stills goes to 0 you have a clutch problem

1.6 liter geo tracker 1996.
I need to clean the screen in my egr valve but every mechanic, except for the Chevy dealers, who charge a ridiculous fee just to read the electrical diagnostic tool.
Where is this thing in the car? I would like to find some schematics but have had no luck. HELP!
