1993 Questions for all other cars fuse blowing ecm unit

Hi there, the fuel pump may be failing and as it loads up the fuse is blowing, this can be tested wit an amp meter to test the current draw on that circuit.

hi mark thanks for the reply my 1993 rv 454 chevy
was jacked up on the left side front and back for inspection they took off the tires and checked the brakes then i drove it home on the way i must have got low on fuel and the ecm fuse blow i but a new fuse in and made it to the gas station then leaving the gas station about 1,ooo feet it blow the fuse again i then keep installing fuses and as soon as i turned on the key it would blow i looked at the wires from the pump all the way to a plug by the motor i un plug the wires and but in a new fuse as soon as i turned on the ket to start the motor the fuse would blow so i had it towed from behind to my house about 10 miles after getting it home the next day i but in a fuse and now it is running great im afrid to go on the road for i dont wont to be towed again could my ecm be going bad thanks capt john

Hi there,

This is a bit of a mystery, i would first run a scan and check for any unresolved fault codes, as the fuse blew with the pump disconnected it won't be the pump, i would also have a good look at the loom and see if it has been rubbing and chaffed through any where, also check that all the plug connections are clean & tight, see how you go.
