Hi, I replaced my alternator and serp. belt and ran the truck for 30 min. to make sure that everything was good. A couple of hours later my wife took the truck to the store and the battery light came on after getting the truck home I pulled the batt. and had it tested it was beyond help so I replaced it. I then double checked all connections and wires, but the new alt. is not charging the batt. I am only getting 8.5 to 9 volts to the battery. I checked several books and online but the only thing I found is a ref. in a hanes book to replace the coil. Will repaceing the coil do the job or is the voltage regulator in the new alt. the problem.
