After having my dead battery jumped, the alarm light is no longer flashing as usual. It's staying on constantly. The alarm buttons on my key are locking/unlocking the vehicle, but they are no longer arming/disarming its alarm system. This is a factory installed alarm system and keys. I am the vehicle's original owner and have never had any issues with it.

Alright let's try this if you don't live in California take it it to a auto parts store like auto zone have them scan your car for codes.Let me know the exact code numbers you have.It will be a letter followed by a four digit number.

Thanks--but guess which state I'm in? Yep, California. Can the stores here not do that?

I live in California also they passed a law that the auto parts stores can't read codes anymore or rent the scan tools to read them about five years ago.Do you know anyone that has a little code reader?there only like 20 on amazon for a basic code reader.
