Alarm disable

You cannot remove the security or pull the fuse to make it not work we need to reset the system. If the system cannot be reset these cars have a problem with the drivers multiplex module going out causing the issue. Lets do a hard reboot of the system to see if the set will fix it. Here is a guide with the MICU location as well. Check the connector for corrosion.

Update: I have tried everything on the list that I can except replacing the MICU. Also, I'm unable to locate the reset button on the left side near the kick plate.Is it possible to just replace and program the key (myself) that has the remote (not the door lock)? I only have the spare key that doesn't have the remote. It seems reasonable since most solutions require the remote key.Look forward to hearing from you.

The key sounds like it needs to be programmed which Honda will need to do it should cost about $130.00 let me know. Also we can do a CAN scan to see if any of the modules are having an issue.

Please run down this guide and report back. You can get a CAN scanner for about $50.00 on Amazon.

I recently had to replace the ignition cylinder in my car and it came with new electrical components just for the cylinder/switch housing. When I did replace it all I had thought the entire system was on the steering column. I obviously was wrong, I tried using the old electrical components and that did nothing. I have tried multiple different ways of resetting the security system sadly to no avail. I do not have an automatic locking system in the car and the drivers door lock cylinder is also not working currently. I would prefer not to have to tow it to a dealer and have them sort it all out for me. If anyone has ideas or knows how to make my keys work it'd be great! P.s. The car is a Civic Dx made in Canada, not the US (don't know if that makes a difference or not).

Unfortunately when the ignition lock cylinder is replaced the new keys need to be programmed to the Power-train Control Module (PCM) in order for the immobilizer to not kick in. This can only be done at a locksmith or the dealership to prevent thieves from going around stealing cars. Please keep us informed to how everything is progressing.

Fitted new battery, when connect negative lead alarm goes off and wont reset. Can open doors etc. with remote and start car but alarm wont stop!

Since you were under the hood working on it, make sure you didn't by accident disconnect the hood latch switch or knock it loose. I attached a pic below of it to help you locate it.

I am having trouble with for the past few days. The factory installed alarm seems to be going off without anything prompting it to go off. I have not installed anything new on the car and have checked to see if all of the doors, etc. are locked and secure but the alarm seems to be going off all by itself. Have you seen this problem and if so what can I do to remedy this? Thanks for your time.

The most common cause for alarm intermittently going of is an out of adjustment door or hood switch.

If the door ajar indicator tends to flicker or shows while driving, that would indicate a door is out of adjustment. When this occurs, the door switch is closed but any vibrations from the surrounding can cause the switch to be activated triggering the alarm.

After replacing the battery and 100 amp main fuse the alarm will not stop. Does it need reset??

You need to disarm it.
If you have the keyless entry remote, use it to disarm the syste.

Alternatively close all doors and use the key to lock/unlock either front door to disarm it.

I think there's a aftermarket alarm hook up to the factory security system.

After changing the battery the horn keeps beeping and won't stop. How do I fix this?

This is a common Honda problem and we have called the dealer to find out the problem and here is what they suggest: Disconnect the battery, then turn the key to the on position, then reconnect the battery. Then use the key fob and lock and then unlock the doors. This should make the horn stop beeping.

It worked for my Honda Insight when I took the 12 volt battery out to recharge
I attached the live battery connection first and then when I attached the neutral the horn started beeping. However as soon as I pressed the unlock button on the car key fob the horn stopped sounding.
