The passenger side airbag mat faulted, due to repair cost ($2,100.00) I decided to use a bypass. once correctly installed, the alert airbag light on the top inside roof panel (above windshield) went off but the airbag warning lights on the center speedometer and the digital meter on the steering wheel remained on. I would like to know how to reset or erase said lights. is there a diagnostic scanner tool you could suggest to use (inexpensive one)?

Thank you,

Tony

If the light is still on then that means there are most likely still codes in the system which indicate another fault.

When you installed a by pass I assume you mean it was just a resistor that will trick the module to think the inflator is still installed?

If this is correct then we may have an issue with that if the resistance is not exact.

However, let's start with getting the airbag codes and we can go from there.

Here is a guide that will help with pulling and erasing the codes. If you are successful erasing them then that would be great but I suspect we will find other codes.

Let me know if you have questions on this. Thanks

Sorry for the delay but you responded in the "Was this Helpful" section and that doesn't tell me you responded.

If this was not helpful I am sorry for that.

What took you back to the original question? Are you looking to reset the light still? If so, and that specific scanner is out of stock then we need to find one like it. Basically you can select any one that reads ABS and airbag codes.

As I said above, the only way we are going to know what is going on is to check the codes and find out why the light is on.

So unfortunately we are going to have to get these codes in order to find out which direction to go.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Thanks
