Code C1A13, air suspension not working properly

Replaced middle air suspension valve block after all four air shocks drop evenly overnight. The compressor is good cause it raises all four air shocks in the morning if I turn on the on-road height. I can hear the compressor raising it. Unfortunately, after replacing the middle valve block, the dash shows suspension fault, and the compressor won't raise the vehicle. The switch will not turn on the off-road height. OBDII code C1A13. I replaced the air suspension compressor 2 years ago for the same suspension fault. I also tried resetting the suspension by turning the steering wheel lock to lock.

It sounds like the middle valve block is not working correctly and not exhausting or not allowing air through it in the allotted time, so the system shuts down and gives the code C1A13. This system has a valve block filter, did you replace that as well? Check the diagrams below so you can see what I am talking about.

no, sorry, I do not even see a valve block filter as pictured. The car has an aftermarket Hitachi compressor. I Had a local shop, (most won't touch a range rover) remove and replace the middle valve block with a new one per a Land Rover mechanic instruction, three valve connections, he said simple no reprogramming needed. The shop is not interested in diagnosing the problem. When I try to raise the car the suspension fault stops the raising. I clear the fault by turning off the ignition and if I hold the raise button pushed it does not fault. Unfortunately, the fault appears on the dash
before it can raise enough. The Land Rover mechanic would have said something about a filter, he advised to buy a new middle valve block which I did. Any guesses?

Aloha, see photo Ken, Air Suspension Reservoir Tank Valve Block RVH000046 For Range Rover Sport LR3, replacement seemed simple enough, don't see a filter, do you think the LR mechanic was mistaken, and it requires reprogramming? Dealer gave bad experiences in the past.

Ken, The LR mechanic implied that since the suspension drops evenly on all four shocks that it is the middle valve block, right? I read that the air compressor has an exhaust valve that gets clogged on the old compressors, but I bought a Hitachi to avoid that problem. thinking it might be just a reprogramming problem but all I have is an old ICARsoft diagnostic tool and it clears the DTCs but the suspension fault comes back immediately. Thanks

It can be a relay or there is a leak somewhere, I would try a spray bottle with a soapy solution to see if you can find where it is leaking, the code is for when the system times out but can't be in a neutral position according to the program. I would concentrate on each of the lift struts, if one has a leak it might bleed through the block and drop the entire car.

can't see any shocks leaking with the soap, but I do notice after the middle valve block was replaced the front is lower than the back. The suspension fault stops the front from raising. the back seems to be okay, and holding now.

It is tough to find the leaks on these, but If I had to try to fix it, I would replace the front air struts. It is common for these to leak. Can you double check the middle valve block when the system is running?

Yes, no sign of leaks on the middle valve block just replaced or air connectors. yeah, I was avoiding the likely culprit front air shocks leaking or front block leaking. thanks
