Air not blowing out of center dash vents

Air doesn’t blow out of the vents in the center of the dashboard. It only blows out of the vents next to the doors when the corresponding mode is selected. It sometimes also doesn’t switch between defrost and other modes right away. Which part needs to be replaced and where is it located?

Hi,

It sounds like the mode door actuator is failing or could even be loose. I'm not sure if you have manual or automatic climate control, so I went with the manual.

If you look at the pics below, they are the directions for the removal and replacement of the mode door actuator. Take a look through them and let me know if they help.

Thank you very much, this is very helpful. I do have the manual climate control. I’ll check if the motor is loose. If it’s not, I will replace it. Thanks again!
