I believe you are referring to the cabin air filter. If that is the case, I need you to check something. When using the AC or defroster, the ac is operational at which point you should eventually see water coming from it and going to the ground under the vehicle. If the drain is plugged, it may be causing this to happen. Check that and let me know what you find.
