I released Freon and I’m not putting any in until May. Should I leave expansion valve, which is orifice tube in or should I take out?

Good afternoon,
You should not have even done this. You should have just unplugged the compressor for the winter if that's what you want. AC is used in the winter for humidity control for defrosting.
As far as opening the system, if you open it, or drain it, do not remove anything. If you open it you will need to replace the receiver dryer when you want to turn it back on from moisture contamination.
