Auto shop says he replaced compressor hoses and charged system. A/C works if bypassed but not with controls and the computer need replaced.

Do you mean he said the PCM needs to be replaced?
Did he verify this by watching the inputs from the low and high pressure switches?
How did he determine the reason for the failure of the PCM?
