Air Conditioner Relay ?

Chances are the system is just a little low on refrigerant. Here is a video to help you add a little to the system.

There are 5 relays that run the AC system, two are for the seat heaters, two are for the blower motors, and the final relay runs the auxiliary water pump.

There is no relay for the climate control module, there is only a fuse#15 in the fuse panel on the right side of the luggage compartment. Can I ask if any lights are flashing on the HVAC controller?

Thanks for your reply. There are no lights flashing on the HVAC controller but the pressure is a little low. I am waiting for a new gas can to arrive so I can top it up.
I just assumed the compressor would kick in even if the pressure was low, but maybe I’m wrong.

The compressor shuts off as a safety measure to the compressor when the system is low on refrigerant. The kit should fix, be sure to go over the video to help. The fill port will be on the larger of the two lines to the compressor and firewall.

Thank so much again for your reply, Ken. I have topped up the gas to the correct pressure and the situation is the same, slightly cooler air than ambient but not chilled, so I suspect the compressor is not activating for some other, more expensive reason. Do you have any suggestions as to what my next steps should be? Replacing a compressor on a car like this is beyond my skill set, but equally the car is 10 years old and I don’t want to spend thousands on a professional air con repair.

Yep, I hear ya, the best thing to do is put an AC gauge set to see what the high and low side pressure or with the system running this video will show you how.

If the high side is low and the low side high then the compressor is no good and it needs to be replaced.
