Air bag/occupancy light error on

From the sound of it, you may be write that it is just an impact sensor has been pinched. However, this system is pretty involved and pretty important so we don't want to guess. If the lights are on then there are codes that go along with it.

Any parts store can pull the codes for you or if the dealer already looked at it, they should have the codes documented. Calling them they should give them to you.

Let's get those codes and that will tell us what is going on then we can diagnose it from there. Thanks.

Thanks, I'll begin looking for a pinched wire. As I understand, an ODB2 code reader will not pick up the airbag codes and the tester you used on your video was no longer available. How do I get the codes? Thanks~

You are correct. Some code readers cannot communicate with the ABS module but others can. Basically, if you are going to buy one, it should specifically say that it communicates with the ABS.

However, most parts stores these days that pull codes free of charge have tools that can pull these codes. Worst case, just stop by one of them and ask.

I suspect it is a pinched wire just because of the fender bender. However, there are impact sensors behind the bumper as well and if one of those are damaged, it would cause the same. I would just suggest getting the codes one way or the other because without them we are guessing.
