Frankly, there are dozens of things that could be causing the light to come on. Sensors, wires, computers, and so on. Since the light is coming on, that means that the computer has set a trouble code, which will point you in the direction of your problem. You should take it to the dealership, or any mechanic with a suitable scanner (Most scanners will not read ABS codes). So please get it scanned. Without doing that, we are just throwing money at it and hoping to get lucky.

Also, since your car has so many different configurations, please let us know if it is a VT, VX, VY, or VZ. We do not have much access to the information on these cars, but some of them are exported to the US and given different model names, so we could try to help there.

It is a VX. I was hoping it was just something simple. This might be a silly question to some but Is there any chance that the airbags will deploy randomly while I am driving?

Nope. Sorry for butting in here, but to set your mind at ease, when a problem is detected, the computer turns that system off, then turns the warning light on to tell you. The airbag will not deploy accidentally, and it will not deploy in a crash either. The diagnostic fault code is recorded in the computer along with the time it was set. We can erase the code once the repairs are completed, but if you are in a crash before that, you cannot blame the manufacturer for injuries due to the airbag not deploying because it can be proved when the system shut down.

Well it does not have a US equivalent that I can tell. I would still suggest getting it scanned as soon as possible. As Caradiodoc explained, the airbags will not work, at all, until the code is cleared.
