Adjust the valves

Hi,

It sounds like you are adjusting valve lash or valve clearance. If you look at the attachments below, they are the directions specific to this vehicle.

When you do this, make sure not to overtighten the lifters. If that happens, it will hold the valve open, and you will lose compression.
