What is the best plan of action for removing the bolt for the harmonic balancer? We are trying to replace the water pump on the 5 cylinder engine for the Acura Vigor. The cooling fan and the radiator have already been removed. All the belts have been removed. The upper timing belt cover has been removed. The lower timing belt cover is behind the harmonic balancer and the balancer will not come off without removing the crank shaft bolt. Is this a reverse threaded bolt? Is there a factory tool or process to remove this bolt? Do you have a full engine diagram available?

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

This bolt is very tight, we use 3/4" impact drivers to remove them, what you can do is remove the starter motor ands lock the drive plate up with a suitable lever, the bolt is a standard thread, see how you get on trying this method.
