When I press the brake on my acura theres a clicking sound comming from behind the dash. what could it be.

Most likely it is your brake light switch, located on top of brake pedal arm behind dash. May also be safety switch for gear selector. It should click when brake pedal is pressed because it is being activated at that time. All automatics have it, some are just louder and more noticeable than others.

If the noise only appears when gear shift is in park, it is operational noise and no repair is required.

WHAT ABOUT IF THIS NOISE GETS MORE PRONOUNCED WHEN I`M IDLING WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN I RAISE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IT STOPS.

Seems something is not working correctly.
When solenoid operates, it will click only once when the brake pedal is depressed. If it is continuous, you would need to check the source of the noise, is it the brake switch (located above the brake pedal) or the interlock solenoid (located uner the gearshift cover).
