My battery died and was recharged but the radio will not work. I recorded the 5 digit code from the owners manual but all I get on the radio display is ERR-E after entering the code. I don't use the CD player. I only use the radio.

Am I doing something wrong? I don't want to go to the local acura dealer because they charge $125 per hour for diagnosis.

Please help!

The problem was fixed by my very capable mechanic at our local Citgo Station. He simply removed the plastic shroud at the base of the steering column and the plastic piece next to the console and he unplugged the radio. He waited a few minutes and reconnected the radio, set the codes, and the radio works fine. I watched and it took him a total of 30 minutes. The charge $60.
What a bargain!

I heard that you have to leave the battery unplugged for at least half-hour after getting an "error" message on your radio. Then reconnect battery and try again. Hope it helps.
