what makes a TL start making rpms rev up and down in park and in neutral and excessive rpm's in drive? I think I have confused my computer/sensors with some intake cleaner I put in it.(?) I am scared to death of what the diagnosis may be. please help!

I work for the largest oil supplier in the southeast, so we also have alot of chemicals (some very old, like what I used) I really don't think it was a good idea for me to use it. I put prem.gas and sometimes injector cleaner, but that's it. I was trying to make it perform better by putting the intake cleaner in it,when actually there was nothing wrong with the performance.BIG GOOF

Was cleaner placed in tank? Have you read contents of product? If product was sprayed into intake may have messed up MAF. If so clean MAF and throttle body out. If product had lead or lead substitute then O2 are contaminated.

Most likely contaminated O2 sensors need to have placed on a scan tool and diagnosed.

If the stufs still in tank consider draining add fresh fuel. In no check engine light on then it may reset after some driving.

check engine light is on and the diagnostics only states catalyst effeciency below threshold. it's been that way for 3 years, smae code and everything and I had o2 sensors replaced last year. so anyway, i just got off the phone with one of my customers and he said that it could also be my coolant level. (?) who knows at this point. thanks again for everything!

Just found out EXACTLY what is wrong with my car. This is valuable information for anyone that has this "looping problem" with their ACURA.Apparently Acura's are very sensitive when the anti-freeze level becomes the slightest bit low, it sends air through the vaccum lines and that's what makes the engine rev up and down. I put a little bit of anti-freeze in my car yesterday and well PROBLEM SOLVED!! YEAH

Thanks for info that is good stuff to know guess the low coolant does not warm up throttle and it goes from cold idle to hot idle setting.
Glad all is good
