Hello,
I have a problem and no one seems to know what is going on. In the morning when my car isn't warmed up (even when it is) I push the gas and my RPMs rev up but my car doesn't accelerate. When it does kick into gear my car jerks. Once I come to a stop there is a 1 secound delay and then my car lunges forward. This only happens to me in the morning or when my car sits for about 2-5 hrs. What could this be. I just got my transmission rebuilt along with a new torque converter and other things. The next morning after I picked it up, SAME THING! What could this be? I already put $5000 into this car and still the same problem. Do you have any idea?

(I also got my egr valve replaced)

Hi jbets44,

The problem is a fault with the transmission solenoids. Rebuilding the trans would not be of any help. Get the solenoids tested and replaced if necessary. The trans shop should be responsible to getting the problem solved as they did the rebuilt.

So is it possible I got the transmission repaired for no reason?AAMCO said they saw some metal shavings and the fluid was burnt a little bit. But I didn't see this with my own eyes. They rebuilt the tranny and the next morning the same problems occured!

Not to say for nothing. If the problem had occurred over a certain period of time, it is possible damages had occurred and rebuilding is required to get the trans back to operating conditions.

The problem is that what was done was to rectify damages but not eliminate the cause of the problem.

You would need to get the problem rectify asap failing which the trans is going to fail sooner or later.
