1997 Acura TL Engine error codes

HI,
I went to a diagnostic place, the results came back with codes
P0420 CAT EFFIC BELOW THRESHOLD (BANK1)
and
P1676 MFR CTRLLED COMPUTER OUTPUT CKT

does this mean a bad Cat or o2 sensor or both?
please help

p0420 means that your catalytic converter is not performing as well as it should.yes,you have a bad cat
p1676 is not a code used by acura.i am sure of this.
it is very rare for the cat and 02 to fail at the same time.usually,the 02 doesn't get replaced for an p0420,just the cat. i know that an oe cat is expensive,you might want to price out aftermarkets.
