ALSO WE FOUND RADIATOR HAS HOLE ON TOP AND FATHER IN LAW PUT A HEAVIER OIL IN IT. IT MELTED FROM THE OUTSIDE NOT INSIDE. ENGINE LOOKS A LITTLE GOLD BUT DOES SHOW HEART BEAT WHEN TRYING TO START AFTER REPLACING SPARK PLUGS AND CAP AND ROTOR. FAILED TO MENTION WIFE DROVE IT ON HOT FOR ABOUT 13MILES BEFORE SHE HAD IT TOWED.

Are you sure you got the correct cap and rotor button for your distributor? Its usually an indicator of to much resistance and heat build up in the cap itself. Spark plugs correct for the car? Better question would be have you done any maintenance lately in the ignition or starter area.

I have had the same issue that you had on your 1997 Acura TL. Did you ever get it lined out or no? If so I could really use some advice PLEASE!!! My situation was identical to yours except my sister was driving not my wife so if you could help out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Brandon
