1996 Acura TL smoking muffler

The engine light was on. I change the oil, the spark plugs and the vale rings on the manifold. The engine light went out but the car continued to smoke from the muffler. What is causing it to still smoke?

Depends on the color of smoke. Black or white. White means its usually running rich with gas or just water vapor, black means its burning oil.
