Brakes problem
1995 Acura TL Two Wheel Drive Automatic

hi all,
i have a 1995 honda inspire 2.5 tl. the abs light goes off at a cold start, stays on after a short rest, and goes off again after another short rest--intermittent!!
i am showing a code of 1-8 when i "paperclip" the ecu connector. this points to low accumulator pressure. if you agree, what is the procedure for replacing the accumulator, bleeding etc.
if you think that it could be something else-- please advise me. a new modulator is a crazy priice!!
many thanks.

Hi David, Thank you for the donation. For a bad accumulator, it is gas leakages that causes the problem and the only option available is to replace it. You can try your luck at the junkyard for a cheaper alternative. Here are the diagnostic procedures.

Hi all,
Many thanks for your reply.
I was away for a few days and got your message on my return.
Would you please resend the diagnostic diagram in larger version as I cannot read the one you sent even if I zoom into it.
Many thanks,
David.

its either the relief plug on top of the accumulator is not holding pressure or a the accumulator can't create pressure. so just check the tightness of the relief plug.
i would bleed the system too just to make sure that air and lack of fluid is not causing the problem or i've seen people top off the modulator with brake fluid until the noise stops, never tried it myself so i can't say if it was a temporary solution or permanent fix
