how do you check for bad ignition coil when they sit on the spark plugs

Hi tetheodore, You can measure the resistance to see if it is faulty.

You can only measure the primary coil resistance across terminal 1 and 2. 0.9 to 1.1 ohms at 77 F (25 C). Replace coil if out of specs.
